My Plans for Autism Awareness Month

March 1, 2015 Posted by Tonya Nash Autism, Blog 1 Comment

The month of April is designated as Autism Awareness Month and it’s exactly one month away!

I’ve been spending some time thinking about ways that I can promote autism awareness. After several weeks of brainstorming, I think that I have finally developed a master plan.

And guess what?  Some of what I have in mind will require your help and support!

Here are my plans for Autism Awareness Month:

  1. Thirty Days of Autism Facts: Are you following me on Social Media?  I certainly hope so!  Why?  Because I will be posting daily facts about autism on social media every day in the month of April.  The posts will appear on my Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus pages.
  2. Blogging Blitz: For the month of March, I will be blogging about how to prepare for Autism Awareness Month.  In the month of April, I will be blogging about a wide range of topics that my Facebook friends suggested regarding Autism.
  3. Light It Up Blue on Facebook: On World Autism Awareness Day (Thursday, April 2nd), please wear blue and post a picture of yourself on Facebook.  Be sure to use the following hashtags: #AutismAwareness #ForDaniel #LIUB.  I’ll be giving you more details about this as the time gets closer.

I also have two community projects that I’m working on.  Hopefully, things will work out great and I’ll be telling you about those projects later in the month.

It is my sincere prayer that you will be informed and inspired by the daily social media posts and blog posts.  Feel free to share them with your friends!  And don’t forget to wear blue, take a selfie, and post it on Facebook on Thursday, April 2nd in honor of World Autism Awareness Day!
