My Autism Awareness Month Speech at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church
Hello Everyone!
It’s been a busy few weeks! The Autism Awareness Month Faith Based Initiative is going great! I’m convinced now more than ever that this is exactly what God wants me to do for this season. It’s so exciting to see all of the wonderful ideas the churches have been coming up with to promote autism awareness in their places of worship!
Part of the success of this initiative came from a partnership with Autism Speaks of Georgia. They graciously provided handouts for my churches and pointed me in the right direction for videos. They also blessed me with the opportunity for a speaking engagement on their behalf.
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA held their first Light It Up Blue service on April 3, 2016. I was their guest speaker for the autism awareness portion of the service. This opportunity lined up perfectly with what I’m trying to do with my Autism Awareness Month Faith Based Initiative. I would like to thank Arnaldo Cepeda for setting up this event and for his hospitality towards my husband and I. It is also important to thank Bishop Eddie Long for allowing opportunities for autism awareness at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
Below is a video that contains my autism awareness speech to the members of New Birth. This was a great ministry opportunity and I look forward to more opportunities like this in the future!
