I haven’t been posting much lately, but I have a good reason…My husband is home! The deployment is over!!
Needless to say, I’ve been ecstatic about his return and have immediately turned over all trash and potty training duties to him. 🙂
While my husband was deployed, I heard about a program called Operation: Love ReUnited. OpLove.org is a nonprofit organization that recruits volunteer photographers to take pictures of deployment departures and homecomings. They also take pictures of the family back at home to send to the military member while they are deployed.
I was excited about the program, especially since we haven’t taken a professional family photo in over 3 years. The photographer I chose, Heather Bullard, was absolutely outstanding! I probably gave her 2-3 different times before the final time was confirmed: 10:00PM on a Saturday night! But that didn’t deter Heather. She actually beat me and Little Man to the airport!
Here are a few of the pictures she took for us.
The photos were captured in our natural interactions together. We only posed for one picture and that was at the end. After the photo session, Heather promptly sent me fifteen 4×6 photos of the homecoming for free! I’m so thankful for Operation: Love ReUnited and the willingness of Heather to volunteer and be flexible for such a worthy project!
