It’s Time to Give Back

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope all of you had an enjoyable holiday season with family and friends.

I’ve been spending some time reflecting on how blessed I am to have wonderful friends and family. God didn’t create us to be by ourselves and I believe that he divinely connects us to people. Since my husband has been deployed, I have had friends step up and do wonderful things to help me and Little Man out. On Christmas, we had five dinner invitations. Of course we didn’t make it to all five, but we made it to three! 🙂 After Christmas, I got sick and one of my friends picked up Little Man for the day. My family calls regularly to check on me and they are always sending little things to let me know they are thinking about me.

I have friends that I haven’t talked to in a while, but they still are very special to me. I remember how one of them dropped everything to spend time with me when another one of my friends passed away. Another dear friend combed my hair and painted my nails while I was in the hospital. One friend took her purse off and gave it to me because I said I liked it.

There’s more stories I can tell. But the beauty of it all is that their random acts of kindness cost little to nothing. The only thing it cost them was their time and it made a world of difference to me.

And while I’m at it, I just want to thank every single one you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read what I have to say. You bless me too and encourage me with your comments.

Most people set New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, quit smoking, or exercise more. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But I’m doing something different this year. I’m going to make it my goal to be as much of a blessing to my friends and family as they are to me. I plan on being a cheerful giver and sowing good seed into the lives of others.

It’s time to give back.

We all have the need to give back. Because we have different make-ups and different gifts, we find ways to do deeds as God would want us to.

Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve dropped by and this post is EXACTLY what my intentions are for the New Year. My way out of debt is to give more…sounds a little strange, but this is what I’m being led to do. Thanks for the confirmation and Happy New Year and a happy day to you, Tonya!

Lavender, your resolution to give your way out of debt isn’t strange at all. You are taking the principle of sowing and reaping and adding a little faith on top of it. God loves a cheerful giver and I know that he will bless your giving! I’m glad this post was a blessing to you. Have a wonderful new year full of God’s choice blessings!
