This past weekend, I was blessed to meet Sara Horn, founder of Wives of Faith.
Sara was doing a book signing at LifeWay to promote her most recent book, God Strong. It just so happened that I was in the same city to visit family.
I was excited about the opportunity for us to meet and I wasn’t about to let it pass by. How could I, when Sara has been such a blessing to me?
I stumbled onto Sara’s Wives of Faith website about a year ago. It was in my early blogging days and I was so excited to see an online community for Christian military wives! Resources and devotions on the site were very helpful to me, especially when my husband deployed last year.
It’s important to find someone that is doing things you would like to do one day and network with them. When I was in the beginning stages of writing about my journey as a military wife, Sara was nice enough to point me in the right direction to get my writing career off the ground.
I’m glad that God ordered my steps so that Sara and I could meet this weekend. She was so nice and very easy to talk to. After the book signing, she headed off to speak to a large group of military wives about what it means to be God Strong. I know that the ladies there were blessed by her words of wisdom and encouragement.
I purchased a copy of Sara’s book, God Strong, and it couldn’t have been at a better time. We’re on the countdown until Dear Hubby deploys again and I know that this book will be a blessing to me.
