Mommy’s Little Helper

Yesterday was a wonderful day in mommyhood for me.My son was on his best behavior the whole day and was very sweet. Let me tell you about our day.

When I went in his room to get him up for the day, I went through our normal routine.

Me: Good Morning Mommy’s Big Boy!

Son:woohwaning(this is significant progress! He’s never tried to say “Good Morning” before!)

Of course, he got a happy dance from Mommy! Every time he uses his words, we make a big deal about it to let him know how proud we are of him.

Morning went by very smoothly. When one of his favorite shows, “Go, Diego, Go!” came on, he grabbed my hand.He took me to the middle of the living room floor and wanted to dance with me.

He loves the theme song! I couldn’t help but smile and laugh.

I wonder if he’ll still want to dance with Mommy when he gets older?

When it was time for lunch, I decided to bake some french fries to eat with the hamburgers I made on the George Foreman. My son was in a very playful mood and wanted to keep crawling in between my legs.

I decided to let him help me cook. I washed his little hands and let him stand on his step stool to put the fries on a baking sheet for me.

At first, he would only take one french fry out at a time. After taking about 10 french fries out of the bag, he got the genius idea to turn the bag upside down and pour out the fries. He clapped for himself and gave me a look that longed for approval. I cheered for him and thanked him for helping Mommy cook.

When I was cleaning up the kitchen from lunch, my son took all of the drying cloths and put them in the drawer. The funny thing about this is that I didn’t tell him to put the drying cloths up, or where the correct drawer was. He knew it on his own and was so happy to help me out.

Later that evening, I went to do one of my favorite things: Grocery Shopping. My husband and son stayed home. I didn’t have many coupons for this visit, but I did save some money. I lost track of time and it was late when I got home.

When I walked in the door, my husband told me that our son wouldn’t go to sleep because he was waiting on me. Just to give you some background information, my husband gives our son his bath at night and he also reads the Bible to him. After my husband gets done, I come in the room and pray for our son. He really enjoys it and to be honest, I enjoy it too. After I finished praying for him, he gave me the sweetest smile and grinned when I kissed him good night.

I love being a mommy!

My sons still dance with me at ages eleven and thirteen, although I have to practically beg the oldest. I wouldn't trade being a mother for anything in the world, yet one complete day off would be a blessing (smile).

    Sounds like a great day.
I like how daddy spends special time with your son before bed. So many fathers are not as involved with their children.
Don't you just love those perfect days, and being a mommy!!!

Isn't being a Mommy one of the greatest experience in life?! <3

You are doing a good job with your
son. The bond you share is so special. He knows you will always
be there for him so make every minute count. The joy of a mother
    and her child is precious.
