In God We Trust

Many people that I know have been negatively impacted by the financial crisis going on in the United States. I’m sure that you know some people as well. There are people wondering if they will have a job next week. Business owners are losing revenue and are forced to lay off workers. Companies that were once powerful and successful are now filing for bankruptcy. People are losing their homes due to foreclosure at a record rate. It’s a sad state of affairs.

My 401K plan took a hit with this economic downturn. As a military spouse, I change jobs quite frequently and I need my dollars to count when I make contributions! While I continued to watch my balance go the wrong way, I began to wonder if I would ever recoup the money lost. It was devastating.

I had to make a decision to have peace in the midst of chaos. Everything that I have, God gave it to me. He can give back the money I lost, and if he doesn’t, that’s okay too. He always provides for my needs and He is my source. So why worry? That’s not going to get my money back. Besides, all U.S. currency has the following words on it…In God We Trust.

President Obama has a plan that he believes will get us back on track. Some people have publicly stated that they want him to fail and others are looking for President Obama to be the savior of our nation. I am choosing not to put my trust in the plan of man. I have to put my trust in the real one who can bring change to our nation and that is God. He is the one that can open doors that no man can shut. There is no such thing as recession with Him because the Earth is His and the fullness thereof. He gives His people all things richly to enjoy. I choose to trust in a God that provided for Joseph and his country during a 7 year long famine. Read Genesis 41-47 if you would like to know more about how God used Joseph to be a blessing to his country and lead them during a time of famine.

Join with me in prayer for our country, as we desperately need it. Our future and the future of our children depend on it.

This post was very good! One thing that I will always depend on is that God is my (our) Ultimate Provider-Jehovah Jireh! So when we think about our supervisors acting crazy or the economy in shambles, we can say a quick prayer “thank you Lord that You are my Ultimate Provider…”

    Keep writing girl,

Great post! God is truly our source and when we remember that, we won’t be so quick to panic in times of hardship.

I forget to pay for the country as a whole. Thank for that charge.
